Here is everything you need to know to enjoy the event. \nFriday Evening Guest Speaker\nWe are delighted to welcome back Stan Tekiela. He will be sharing his presentation “Feathers”.  \nEvery bird is covered with thousands of feathers. Each of these feathers is a combination of incredible engineering and absolute beauty. This presentation is stunningly illustrated with hundreds of feathers and fun facts\, all delivered with Stan’s playful sense of humor. \nDue to the size of the venue\, attendance will be limited to 100 people. \nAccommodations\nParticipants staying overnight will need to make their own lodging reservations. Nearby communities with good options include Lake City\, Red Wing\, and Wabasha. \nLocation\nHok Si La Park Dining Hall in Lake City\, Minnesota\, is the central hub for all activities.\nwww.hoksilapark.org \nOn-Site Information\nAnnouncements will be shared after each meal. Bird Boards\, schedules\, notices\, and suggested birding locations will be posted in prominent locations for easy reference. \nSchedule \nFriday\, May 8\n6:30 PM – Coffee\, cookies\, and social time\n7:00 PM – Presentation: Stan Tekiela – Feathers (You must be registered for Warbler Weekend to attend.) \nSaturday\, May 9\nMorning:  \n\nOrientation and Walk #1: 6:45 AM – 8:45 AM\nBreakfast: 8:45 AM – 9:15 AM\nAnnouncements: 9:15 AM – 9:30 AM\nWalk #2: 10:00 AM – 12:15 PM\nLunch: 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM\nAnnouncements: 12:45 PM – 1:00 PM\n\nAfternoon:  \n\nWalk #3: 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM\nWalk #4: 3:45 PM –5:30 PM “Birding is on Your Own”\nDinner: 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM\nBird count and Announcements: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM\nChimney Swift Count at Villa Maria: 7:45 PM – ~9:00 PM\n\nSunday\, May 10 \n\nBirding is on your own.\n\nPlease gather on the grass near the parking lot\, following the appropriate signs\, and be ready to depart at least 5 minutes before your scheduled walk time so all groups can leave promptly. \nLikely birding locations include: \n\nHok-Si-La North and South\nFrontenac State Park – Sand Point Trail and campground\nFrontenac Town Cemetery and Town Walk\nVilla Maria Grounds\nBirding by car on your own is always an option.\n\nEvaluation Forms\nWe value your feedback. All participants will be invited to complete a brief evaluation form to help us continue improving Warbler Weekend. \nRegistration & Refund Policy\nBecause food and facility costs are committed in advance\, no new reservations or refunds will be offered after April 19\, 2026.
