SUMMARY:Fall Migrants and Grassland Goldenrod at Battle Creek Park
DESCRIPTION:The Battle Creek Grassland is a critical nesting area which we have been working to preserve.  It is next to Battle Creek Park\, managed by Corrections\, with restricted public access.  We will hike on park trails along the western and northern edges of the grassland\, where we hope to hear and see migrating fall warblers\, sparrows\, and hawks\, along with the early fall colors of the grassland.  One way to prep for this walk is to watch  From Bobolinks to Blue Jays – Bird at Battle Creek    This trip is offered in collaboration with  Friends of Maplewood Nature \nDIRECTIONS    Meet in the South Battle Creek parking lot. From I-94 take exit 246B for Mc Knight Rd S.\, go 0.2 mi.
