Environmental Advocacy
The St. Paul Bird Alliance is one of the state’s most active conservation organizations for grassroots advocacy on environmental public policy issues affecting birds and habitats. Members and friends of the Conservation Committee work on a variety of local, state, and federal environmental initiatives:
- Holding the DNR, County, and City for clean-up and beautification of Pig’s Eye.
- Advocating to preserve grasslands and birds at Keystone WMA
- Working with county and city government to maintain viable grasslands at Battle Creek Park
- Working with/ the City of St. Paul and Como Park to restore Cardinal (formerly Audubon) Woods
The committee has coordinated letter and phone call campaigns at members’ meetings, coordinated speaker symposiums, and coordinated grassroots activity with other environmental organizations.
