Varied habitat at Katherine Abbott Park includes two small ponds, a mixture of oak and pine forest, and a section of prairie thus making it a good location for a variety of birds. Several overlooks allow for long distance viewing of shorebirds and ducks.
INFORMATION Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. A limited number of binoculars can be borrowed from the leader. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Water and bug dope advised.

DIFFICULTY 3 miles route; main trails are paved or coarse gravel; other small trails are uneven; small hills and overlooks are part of trails system; outdoor toilets available.
