A Walk in the Woods – We’ll be birding in the wooded area of the park, including recently restored oak savannah. The grassland Bobolink walk is rescheduled to Tuesday, July 1 (see SPBA online event calendar). One way to prep for this walk is to watch  From Bobolinks to Blue Jays – Bird at Battle Creek    This trip is offered in collaboration with  Friends of Maplewood Nature

DIRECTIONS    Meet in the South Battle Creek parking lot. From I-94 E take exit 246B for McKnight Rd S., go 0.2 mi. Merge onto McKnight Rd S, go 1.2 mi.  Turn left (east) onto Lower Afton, go 0.2 mile, turn left into the South Battle Creek Parking lot. 44.933382, -92.999838

DIFFICULTY    Moderate difficulty – 2 miles on paved trail with a few gentle slopes.  Porta-potty at the parking lot.
