Do you like Birds? Do you like Dragonflies? Then join in the fun at Swede Hollow Park to take a closer look at dragonflies and learn of the birds who feed on them. This free fun family event is set for Saturday, July 2nd from 1 – 3 pm.

Dragonfly experts will net dragonflies and hold them to give people a closer look at these interesting creatures. Volunteers can try their own hand catching and releasing the dragonflies – in nets provided. We will learn about the life stages of dragonflies, the variety of dragonflies, what they eat and who eats them. Audubon volunteers will be on hand to discuss birds such as Flycatchers who rely on dragonflies as an important food source. Friends of Swede Hollow will share the history of Swede Hollow and dreams for the Park’s future.

Meet at the Swede Henge on the North Side of Swede Hollow Park. Follow the signs from 622 Beaumont Street and enter the Park via the Drewry Tunnel.
