St. Paul Bird Alliance joins with Friends of Swede Hollow and Friends of the Parks and Trails of St. Paul and Ramsey County to offer this opportunity to explore the NW corner of Phalen Park, including Round Lake.  Along the way, we’ll look for both woodland and water birds. Beginners are most welcome.

INFORMATION: Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. The leader can borrow a limited number of binoculars. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Water and bug repellent are advised.

DIRECTIONS     Exit MN-36 onto US-61 South. Go 1.2 miles to Frost Ave. Turn left onto Frost. Go 0.6 miles to the traffic circle. Take the first exit onto E. Shore Drive. Go 0.2 miles. Turn right to stay on E. Shore Drive. Go 500 ft to the boat ramp parking lot. Meet in the parking lot. 44.995550, -93.059734          

REGISTRATION     None

DIFFICULTY     The 1.5-mile asphalt route includes low gradual slopes and Porta Potty at the parking lot.
