Discover the fun of birding from a bicycle along two rivers, starting in Ramsey County at Lilydale Regional Park, along the Mississippi River, and riding into Dakota County on the Big Rivers Rail Trail along the Minnesota River. Route to edge of Snelling State Park in Mendota Heights is about 5 miles one way. Habitats include riverside, lake, wetland, urban forest.

DIRECTIONS This park does not have a close bus/transit stop; closest bus is #62. Parking is available.
INFORMATION Bring bicycle, helmet, binoculars, lunch, snacks, sunscreen and water. Leader will bring a first aid kit, and may bring a scope. If you plan to add on any hiking or kayaking, bring a bike lock. If you plan to bike entire route, bring a picnic lunch.
REGISTRATION Required and limited to 8 participants. Contact sherrygray@yahoo.com to register. Participants will be asked to sign a liability release form at the start of the trip.
DIFFICULTY Route is mostly level and paved, but there may be a city street crossing to access the Big Rivers Regional Trail. The pace will be relaxed. Birders and bicyclists of all levels, including newbies, very welcome to join.
