The Battle Creek Grassland is a critical nesting area that we have been working to preserve. It is next to Battle Creek Park, managed by Corrections, with restricted public access. Contingent on Corrections approval, we will carpool from the park into a restricted area where we hope to hear and see Bobolinks, Henslow’s Sparrows, and other grassland birds. One way to prep for this walk is to watch From Bobolinks to Blue Jays – Bird at Battle Creek. This trip is offered in collaboration with Friends of Maplewood Nature
