The Battle Creek Grassland is a critical nesting area which we have been working to preserve.  It is next to Battle Creek Park, managed by Corrections, with restricted public access.  Contingent on Corrections approval, we will carpool from the park into a restricted area where we hope to hear and see Bobolinks, Henslow’s Sparrows and other grassland birds. DIRECTIONS    Meet in the South Battle Creek parking lot. From I-94 E take exit 246B for McKnight Rd S., go 0.2 mi. Merge onto McKnight Rd S, go 1.2 mi.  Turn left (east) onto Lower Afton, go 0.2 mile, turn left into the South Battle Creek Parking lot. 44.933382, -92.999838   ATTN: Details for this trip may change. DIFFICULTY     Contingent on Corrections approval to carpool, this will be an easy walk on a flat unpaved trail.  Porta-potty at the parking lot in Battle creek Park.
